It is Friday/Saturday morning here!!!!

I decided it was time to change my background again as I am sure you all can see! I still had to keep some purple in it too! So in amongst the red and green you will find it! I am thinking that I will be updating my slide show soon too! I also think I will have one for family and one for scrappy stuff!
Today was spent at my Mother in laws for her birthday, which was Thanksgiving. I made a card for her birthday which was a quick one. I did not care for it but what can you do! I have to make another birthday card for Antonia's friend party! Ugh, I am tired of b-day cards! After that I am hoping to get more Christmas cards made plus work on gifts I plan to make! I actually have been making a lot of cards lately and need to post them. I am taking my time because this way I have something to show you all and to say! LOL I mean you all know how much I hate to talk! hee hee I think I will show you both birthday cards I made for James' brother and mom.

So let me do that now!
Sorry for the crappy picture! This card was made using my Cardmaker's Sketch Book! I love love love that book. Anyhow, the details

Stamps - SU
Pens - Sugarloaf & Bic Mark it's
Ink - SU & Whispers
Brads - No clue!
Paper - SU & No idea
Fiber - A rak
Tag - SU
Staple - Who knows

This was a quickie card made for Eric. I really love the sketch book because when you have an idea the card comes to you so much faster! I am getting bolder with colors and things too! Going out of my norm I guess. I will go ahead and show you my mother in laws card!

Looking at the picture my hubby took it looks very crooked but I promise it was not! Let's see the details
Stamps - SU
Ink - Rubber stampede
Brads - Joann's
Ribbon - American Crafts
Flowers - Walmart & ?
Paper - American craft (I believe)
Chipboard - Joann's
Embossing powder - Ranger
Paint - Making Memories
Yes I stamped the chipboard piece crooked but said oh well! I would have never put dots and stripes together but saw an example and tried something new! I won't talk or type your ear off but I will say please stop back for more cards I have worked hard on! I also appreciate you all stopping by! If you stop please leave me a comment even if you are anonymous (just say your name in the comment if you want). This will keep you from having to register if you don't want to! Yes, this is for my mom and aunts! LOL
See you all soon! If you get a chance check out some of the places I visit, you will love them!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my family and friends!!!!! I did not realize it has been so long since my last post! I have been making cards so been busy busy! I will not slam you with them all at one time as to bore you!

Let's see today for me brings a trip to my Great Aunt's house for dinner! I am not sure who all is joining us. I am made a Cheesecake & Banana Cream (from scratch) for dinner. I am not a pumpkin pie eater or cheesecake so I am eating the banana cream! I should be getting ready but of course I am sitting here! LOL

Okay now to my cards!

This is one I did for a card sketch challenge at Out of this Funk. This was a fairly easy card to do especially when you have a sketch!

Paper - SU & KI memories
Snowflakes - Walmart
Ink - SU
Embossing powder - Ranger
Rhinestone - SU
Tag - SU
Ribbon - Joann's

Here is a card I made by mistake! I wanted to score it like a normal card but goofed it up! I decided I was going to work with it anyway!

Paper - SU
Ribbon - Joann
Watercolors - Prisma
Markers - Bic & Sugarloaf
Stickles
Ink - Watermark
Embossing powder - Ranger

I think I covered it all! I did not plan for the brown bulb to look like that!!!!! I don't like it but you know sometimes you just can't sweat the small stuff! So this is the one you give to mom cuz she will love it anyway! Ha ha!

Well that is it for today because I have to get ready! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!! God bless you and your families!!!!! I am thankful for all of you!!!!!!

Cards & life--busy busy

Many of you know what I did yesterday but I have family that looks too so I am going to tell it again! Sorry to bore some of you! Yesterday was a busy day for me! It was Jack's birthday so we were having a family party here for him. I asked him his favorite meal I make so we had Busy Day Casserole, made a birthday cake, did a card (of course I waited until last minute!), straightened up for my parents coming over, got gifts wrapped actually told hubby to do this! I show you some shots of the silly boy and his gifts! LOL

The first picture he is opening the Ihome Ipod dock etc from James and I. The second is the Mario Baseball Game for Wii he wanted that Taylor got him! He loves monkey so that is from me. My parents got him a Target GC plus a baseball digital photo frame and Antonia got him a remote control card and balloon! As you can see he what happy with everything! He said he had a lot of fun!
Here is a picture of him and Taylor with his sign she made!

This is another Christmas card I did for the swap! I decided to go non traditional colors and remember a friend, Karen, doing a blue challenge! So I decided to try it!

Paper - Making Memories (Striped) & SU
Stamp - Rubber stampede
Watercolors - Primacolors, SU
Metallics - Gelly Roll
Markers - Bic, Sugarloaf

Diamond Glaze
Embossing folder - Cuttlebug
Glitter - ?
Snowflake - Walmart
Ribbon - Joann
Stickles
I used which ever techniques listed above to do the ornaments! I used the glue pen for the green area and added glitter to it. I will probably re do it since the glitter did not stick that well. I also took a white snowflake and put diamond glaze on it then covered it with blue glitter! I let it dry for a while but made sure that I opened the areas in the center of the flake. Then I just assemble the card and Voila it was done!

I actually have been liking my latest cards which I never like stuff I do! I did not plan for the silver bulb to be covered with the silver metallic marker but it happened! Oh well, C'est la vie!
Okay my next card will be my sketch challenge I have going at Never been kissed scrappers! This sketch is from the Cardmaker's book I bought! I could not come up with these idea's!

Paper - SU
Stamp - Stampendous & Perfectly clear & SU
Ribbon - From a rak (wish I had more!)
Markers - Sugarloaf
Ink - SU
Pencils - Joann's
Stickles
Okay I started using the sketch which is 3 blocks across the an inch thick line underneath. So this is my take! I stamped the 3 monkeys the colored in the monkey & banana then stickled it yellow. As it dried I sat and thought now what! I decided that I would do the saying "Go banana's, It's your birthday" Okay so that meant using my little acrylic letters you know the dollar ones to do the first part! Of course they would not stick to my block!!!! I, those of you that know me, cursed and pouted! I now was feeling the stress of the day! Anyway, since they would not stick I decided I would do them kinda crazy looking like the little monkey! I must have changed the design of this card a million and one times! Finally a brain fart came to me to do the ribbon down the side then I stamped the bottom! But I still did not like it! Ask Taylor for help and she said it needed something. I said what about fake stitching? "Cool", she said. Well I decided to do dots around just two edges of the squares. My hand shook like crazy and they came out all different sizes! I was ready to scream. So I connected them that sucked too! Finally after many mistakes I did the solid blocks and if you look carefully you can see my boo boo's! But after all the mistakes which really helped me make a card I liked, I loved it!
Well this is pretty long so I won't bore you all to death! I will say good night and please stop back! I hope tomorrow I will have my next non traditional card & Taylor's birthday card for Jack uploaded!
Thanks ladies you are all terrific!

A quick post and the reason for my mojo block!

I wanted to stop by and say a big THANK YOU for all of you stopping by my blog! I just hope I can keep you all entertained and have cards at least to show you!

Well it is technically Monday morning now so I guess I can give you an update about our weekend. Weather is yucky here so the whole family did not really feel like doing much! Friday day was spent running all over including the grocery store. So the rest of Friday night was catching up on blogs and sites! Saturday everyone got up feeling lazy! I had done so coloring of the ornaments I have been showing you all so I went in to look at them. I had had the base card and embossed part done but had screwed up 3 of the colored parts trying to do things with them. So I had to recolor and wait! Well the stuff was sitting calling me to finish it up! So with my laziness following me I finished it up! I will show you all a picture of it in my next post. We then decided to go visit the in laws so that we could just be lazy on Sunday. I will talk about this more later. I know you all are just screaming please no!!!!!

I did want to show you some of the reasons why I don't get anything done when I am trying to make cards or even scrap! It is a big heavy annoying thing! So now the pictures!

So this is my scrappy card making block! I was just minding my own business coloring when the cat decided he did not want me to do any coloring! Then I grabbed for a pen in the white bin so he laid in it! So I decided to work on something else and he got really mad and laid across everything! You know most of the time, I have a hard time creating because mojo is at Sherie's house! LOL Sherie will understand this! But lately I have kitty block! As I water colored he was hit the blender with his paw! Anybody need a cat?

Feeling a little better

I have to say that I am feeling better today. My head is killing me still plus my sinus are hurting but other than that......LOL I guess I will get there! Thanks to those of you that gave me well wishes! I have been trying to keep up on blogs so be looking for Fink to show up! You all do some wonderful work plus I love hearing about what is going on in your lives! Glad to know my is not as abnormal as I thought! Hee hee

Today is Jack and Taylor 1st anniversary of dating! I can't believe that starting dating in fall of 7th would have them going out still fall of 8th! It is funny cuz they are great together! I am glad that after all the waiting they decided to go out! They are good kids with good heads on their shoulders!!!! And yes, we have had the talk!!!!!
I have tried to get in my scrappy room but just could not do it! I just seem to feel okay then night hits and my head throbs! But I do have a couple of cards to show you!!!!! Well let's so you that and give you the boring hoopla! LOL
Paper - SU & ?
Embossing folder - Cuttlebug
Stickles
Markers - Bic Mark its
Diamond glaze
Metallic's- Gelly roll
Ribbon - Joann
Stamps - Rubber Stampede & SU
Scallop punch - SU
Basically this is the same card as before but I skipped the squares and left background solid!! Mostly because I am lazy! I used the scallop square instead the tag! Oh yeah, I used a different stamp too! I think I love the brown and pink bulb!

Okay next card was done by Taylor. I will explain as much as I can! She wanted to hand make as much of the card as possible!

She hand drew the tree & base then cut it out. The star was punched out with CM mini punch. She wanted to do more to it so she added beads as ornaments but still did not like it so she hit the stamps! After telling me I did NOT have enough Christmas stamps she found some penguins with lights and just left out the penguins! She wanted it to look like they were laying in the background to get ready to be on the tree! Her last thing was versamark stamping the merry and bright! I think it turned out cute! She is thinking of doing presents yet! I think she should leave well enough alone!
Okay I was also given that blog award by Rozita "Rose" and need to pick my people. I decided to pick my 4 blogger friends as & my 1 new blogger friend as:
Scrap This - Nancy
It's my Thingy - Elizabeth
A flash from my Past - Sherie
Walkin on Sunshine - Michelle
3+1=4 - Kylie New blogger friend

I added an extra new blogger friend! Congrats ladies! I will hit your blogs to let you know to collect your award!

Man I have been blog hopping!

Whew, my fingers are exhausted! I have been trying to visit the blogs of ladies from Creative Xpress, Out of this Funk and Never been Kissed Scrappers! I am sure you have seen me on your blogs! You all are doing such wonderful projects! I am learning so much! I appreciate those of you that have stopped by!!!!! I will try to keep my blog updated as much as possible!

Okay I was at Di Hickman's blog and got a terrific card sketch I just had to try! I had a great time with this one! I actually can say I loved what I did!!!! Now trust me that is such a surprise! I will post a picture of it and explain the details in case you are interested! Wow, interested in something I did, now that is a shock!

Okay, the sketch was slightly different but this is my take! What I used:
Large stamp - Rubber Stampede
Tag stamp - SU
Watercolors - SU, Prisma
Paper - SU
Embossing folder - Cuttlebug
Stickles
Glitter pen (the lines) - Gelly roll
Ribbon - Joann's
Tag - SU
Rhinestone - No idea
Square punch - Creative Memories
Ink - SU
Basically I stamped the image on watercolor paper then colored it in with various types of pencils and crayons! I then used a blender to color them in. I did random bulbs with colored stickles and let them dry over night. Today I made my card base and embossed the green paper with the Cuttlebug folder. I had to make the squares (CM punch) offset as that is the design of the stamp. In punching I lost some the ornaments so I had to line up the bulb lines as best I could! I then took my SU tag punches to make the tag and used the coordinating tag set to make the design. The center ornament had a design inside but I decided to add sparkle by adding the rhinestone! Gave it some lift. I used the slit punch so that I could put my ribbon through. Tied it up around just the green then adhered it to the card base! I am very proud of this card! I most of the time dislike my work a lot but I like this one! I hope you do too!

I am in a Christmas card swap and am thinking this is the card I will do for everyone! I think I will just do it full style instead of cutting into squares since it will be easier for me! That is how I feel now but who knows what I will do tomorrow! LMAO I did color my second one, letting the stickles dry as I type this! So maybe stop back to see what I have done tomorrow! I will also be posting Taylor's cards she made! She is very creative so stop back to see them too!

Thanks for visiting my friends! I will see you on your blog so be looking for Fink to stop by! Hugs all! Good night! Oh yeah, the best part about tonight is that my baby will be home from her week long trip with her grandparents! I am looking forward to seeing her!

November brings change!

How, you might ask? A variety of ways! First, it is daylight saving time! We now get up when it is light and come home when it is dark! This means we are no longer outside late. This sure is hard to get used to for me cuz I seem to think around 8 p.m. that people should be in bed since it has been dark for hours! Second, it was voting time for President again!!!!! I went this afternoon and cast my vote! I am ready for change! Third, the colors of the world are different! They are so pretty and colorful! There is so many vibrant colors this time of year but means that winter is around the corner!!!! Burrrrrrr! Fourth, change in clothes for the season! I could go on and on but don't want to bore you!

As you can see, I have got a new background since the racing season is almost over! I don't know what I will do on Sunday's now. I have my computer whiz Taylor looking into making our own layouts for blogs! I think it would be fun! Speaking of blogs, I am trying to visit as many as I can! I have fun seeing all the different types plus been checking out some of your links as well! I have saved many in my favorites thanks to you all!

Okay I wanted to show you all my Halloween treat for Jack! I wanted to give him something for trick or treat that was fun. We carved pumpkins and I thought what about a pumpkin carved treat bag with MM's! Thinking about it I figure first place to go was the Cricut!

I got out the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and did the round bag! That was a step in the right direction. I printed out 2 bags so that I could use one for a template. I wanted to go with the old traditional face so I did triangles and teeth! I first penciled the face in the cut it out with an extco! Much to my surprise it worked. I then took the template and placed it over the other and cut it out! I added the ribbon and made a tag for extra oomph! I used purple fiber to tie bag shut and just stamped tag to it! I filled a cellophane bag with candy and ta dah! I was so proud of myself since I am not creative! I also did a candy bar wrapper! Basically for that I used paper and stamps plus ribbon! I will post a picture of that here too! I just used DCWV paper, the same ribbon and then stamp out
the 2 circles colored them in the made the center part with stamps
and cut out the colored monkey for the corner! I used target stamps and clear stamps. Thought this would be fun for him!

We all went trick or treating to my mom's house since by my house the houses are to far apart so they don't come around our house! Of course I took pictures so I have to show you! Jack was a gangster, Taylor (next to him) was a black kitty and Antonia

was goth girl! Her uncle helped her with this one so she even had fake piercings! We had a good time and they got lots of candy! I also have pictures of the pumpkins they did in my slide show to the side so check it out as it has changed! Well I think that is all for now!
Oh yeah, I tried those biscuits that were in Paper Gourmet and they were delicious but I was also made at them (the biscuits) because they cost me money!!!!! How???? I ended up buying the book and a book called Cardmaker's Sketch book! I am so excited since this one is just card sketches! I can't wait to get it! Now I really think I am done talking! Hee hee Elizabeth I loved to talk as much as you! Told you! : )
