Stamp:

I colored the pumpkins with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol (oms). The face and stems are colored with Whisper's brush strokes markers. I then cut out one pumpkin and used pop dots for it to be up front of the others. I also mounted them on the with dots as well. I actually think it came out cute! What a surprise for me!

The good, bad & the ugly!

Hey all-
I am so stinking excited!!!!!!! I guess this means I will be starting with the good : ) Well I have been trying for DT as you all know. I am glad to say that I made it for not 1 but 2!!!! The first I will tell you about is The Character Cafe. This is the blog where the announcements and challenges can be found! There is also a store to shop for digi images and other fun! Please check back here Friday for our release party! Whoo hoo! I will tell you more about it then!

Now for the second DT place is Doodle Street! I am excited to be there as well. I had the pleasure of working with Heather at ICS and she is one of the owners with great designs! Cassandra is the other owner who has great sketches and designs as well! Please join us! We also have a blog hop coming up October 3rd and 4th! Our design release is October 7th so be ready to check out some great things!

Okay well now comes the bad........I have this weeks card for ICS and my last post for them will be next week. I have enjoyed my whole time there! We have had great sketches that stretched the imagination, confused me (not hard) and that came easy! I blame here for my 8 months of stamp buying!!!!!! LOL

Here is the sketch this week

This is a card for Jack! I am also going to make him a little something for Halloween with a couple of candy bars & MM's.
Supplies:
Paper:
SU & Recollections Halloween
Stamps:
Penny Black & Inkdinkado
Embellishments:
Cauldron is from pins Taylor bought for her bag & Bat--Brad I cut prongs off and no idea! LOL
Ribbon:
Offray
Punch:
Marvy
Glitter:
Sakura
I used my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol to color in! I bought this stamp just for Jack since I wanted to surprise him! Hee hee I love when I have excuses to buy stamps! I did change the sketch by rotating it and leaving off the one embelly! I like the way it turned out!
Okay to the ugly! Well that would be a picture of me! But I will save you from that. : ) I guess it just sounded good in the title! LOL But, it would be that my term at ICS is up soon! I am sure glad that I picked up the other DT's or should I say they picked up me! I will definitely be using Dawn's sketches in the future! I love love love sketches and hers are awesome! Makes it easier on me since I have no brain! LOL
Thanks for visiting me and I always appreciate it! I will be hopping now so please stop back! I love you all!

Things that make you go hum......plus ICS Card

Hello all-

Well I know I did not make the one design team already! I am hoping that out there somewhere is someone who will like my style!!!!! She actually picked a few girls before hand but said it was so hard she put the names in a hat and drew them! I guess my name stayed in the hat this time. I realized that my cards are not very foo foo because I am certainly not girly! I also find I don't like busy cards or vintage style (for me that is). Basically right there I just took myself out of most places!!!! I guess I will just keep trying!!!! Can't hurt anyway!

I will show you all what you stop for!!!! This week's sponsor is The Cutting Cafe! Regina is giving you 3 stamp sets of your choice!!!!! So make sure you join us this week for your chance to win!

This weeks sketch is from Dawn of course!

Supplies:

Paper:
Karen Foster Recycled, SU! & A Halloween Kit that was a rak!
Stamps:
Little Monsters by Recollections & Stampendous (pumpkin)
Embelly: A pumpkin button from ? & glitter eye from my husbands flying fishing stuff!!!! Hee hee he left me steal!
Ribbon:
Offray
We were given a variety of things to chosen from The Cutting Cafe!!!!! I decided to take the top note. First I did the monster with paper piecing! This is my first ever try at paper piecing!!!! To finish my monster, I used Whiskers Brush Markers on the horns, hands and toes. I wanted him to look Halloween so I added the pumpkin bucket from another stamp set. Next was rounding the corners. Next I opened the top note in Adobe so that I could size it down
to fit my card how I wanted. I am thinking I should have made it a little bigger but I still think it came out okay. I chose the papers, embellies and ribbon and tah dah the finished product! This is a 6x6 card by the way.
I have so many things that made me go hum or just ticked me off today! I was gonna beef about it here but decided to save you all the aggravation!
Well my parents house is finally being built! She was able to stand in her future bedroom while my dad looked down from the upper bedrooms! LOL It is nice to see the framing work being done.
Thanks for stopping and wish me luck with the other calls!

I have been bad!

I have not been blogging since the1st! What a bad blogger that is. Things were so busy with the family reunion we had and Labor day holiday. I sure wish I had something to show you all but I will soon.

I have been trying out for DT's recently so I have been crossing my fingers on making one. I told myself that I would not over exert or put to much demand on myself. I am going to stick to that!!!! I just love the feeling of creating for others to see plus how good it makes me feel. I also learned a lot being on Dawn's DT!!!! By her taking the chance with me, I feel I have grown so much in ability plus in stretching my brain cells! It has given me the opportunity to grow in skills and in friendship! I also just love having to work with my hands and what little brain I have. LOL I also have learned to expect mistakes and to work with them!!!! This is why it is called handmade!!!!

Let's see, we went shopping recently for Taylor's homecoming dress! I could not believe how much money it costs!!!!! Jack's mom got him a suit for this event! He never had one and that is a heck of a purchase for Susan. At least he will get to wear it more than once!!!! I am hoping someone will borrow it from Taylor to wear next year! LOL Anyway, she went with red and I will so you all a quick picture of it. This is a shot after we got back from hours at the mall!!!! I also can not stand shopping!!!! I was bored to tears.
She went with red sparkles!!!! This is not a good picture but I wanted to give you an idea! Now I guess it is just shoes we need to buy.
A quick update of my parents home! The concrete was poured today and they will start building on Monday supposedly. That is if things go well with the inspector. It is going but going slow! It will be great once it is finished. I just wish it was being built under better circumstances.

Sketch 32 & I get to GDT in November!

Hey there-

I am glad to see you all stopping by! I would love to see more visitors though! Even if it is a quick hi!

Well I did a post with 2 of my favorite cards for a DT call but unfortunately I submitted the deadline day and all spots were full! I was kinda of bummed but she asked me if I would be interested in being a guest designer and if she could keep me on her list in case someone can not fulfill their term. She also told me to apply in March for the next call. It was nice because today she sent an email about a friend having a GDT call and I applied today and am going to be GDT for Stamps by Step! You better all be looking for me there in November!!!!! I am so excited! I can't wait to get my goodies to use! So those are both good things even though the DT was full!

This weeks sketch is a good one! Dawn comes up with another! We also have a great repeat sponsor in Bunny Zoe's craft! She is donating the pilgrim couple and a pretty fall collection of buttons! Make sure to check it out! I am so sad that I will be done at the end of the month with my DT position at ICS! It sure has been fun though! I am going to miss it but hope to do the challenges whenever I can! Well make sure you check out ICS for a chance to be on this wonderful design team!

To the sketch:

Supplies

Paper:
DCWV, SU & Unknown

Stamps:
Stampendous & Recollection (Michael's $1 bin)

Ink:
Mementos
Ribbon:
Big Lots

Stickers:
Tim Coffey

I did this card in a 5x5 to give it more room for the sketch design. Isn't this little mummy so cute? I wanted to make him like a little boy child after playing so I used my Prismacolor pencils French Grey and blended it with Gamsol then I used White and blended that hoping to come out with a dusty mummy boy! I also decided that I would use the orange thick ribbon as the middle strip adding a slight difference! I then stamped the sentiment then put black around it for it to stick out more. It needed something so I added that little cute spider! I just love Halloween and have plenty of cards to make for Taylor's friends! They expect them now! LOL

Well things were halted at my parents because the inspector said no to pouring the concrete because they did not put insulation in the crawl space. My mom said that it did not bother her because that meant the house would be great and up to code! We did find out one of the reason's their house burnt so fast is the paneling in the basement! When the house was built they used real wood! Who would have thought it was real and not fake or a synthetic! But that was another contributor of the speedy blaze.

I want to share our new family member with you all! We went to a picnic over the weekend at James' uncles house. The neighborhood is a little dingy so pets are something they have and when they don't want them, they are put on the street. Antonia came to me with a very starving kitten that kept laying in the street. She went around to houses to find people who thought he was the kitty that ran away but came to find out he wasn't! They claimed he did not get along with their cat so they threw him out! How fing ridiculous is that! I will give them one thing he did not like the cats and dogs we have but he is fine now!!!!! I can't stand people like this!!!!

Here is his picture

I have an appointment for him on Friday to see what all is going on! I am hoping he is healthy! We put flea medicine on after a bath. He was very happy to eat and I think be warm! He loves to lay in the cat bed! His picture is taken in front of the animal toy basket! Now if I could just get them to put them back after they take them out!!!! Gee, I can't get the kids or hubby to do that either! LMAO
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out ICS DT tryouts plus be watching for my November GDT showing! Heck because time flies we know it will be here in no time!
