Yipee! It is Friday!

Hello there! Things have been kinda crazy since James was out of town since Weds. That means that I am responsible for getting the girls ready and to school! I know you are trying to figure that out. I am very much a night person which does not make it easy to get up with the girls! Well my hubby was kind enough to offer to get them up since he is getting ready for work anyway. That was an offer I could not resist. So I have been going to bed late, not sleeping because he is gone so I am waiting for burglars (LOL), getting up at an awful hour then going back to sleep. Can you tell I was not fond of it!

Wednesday the girls and I went to my Great Aunt's house for a visit. We had bean soup & pierogies for dinner. We sat and chatted about all kinds of things. We also went on the internet to show her some things since she is new to the world of computers and such. She gave us some very cute halloween decorations that she is not going to use anymore. Next time the girls want to go over and raid her jewerly. Unfortunately with school we could not stay late even though we did!

Thursday morning was getting up early! Yuck! But I also was going to get to scrap with my best bud, Chris! We love to get together for a 10-3 scrap session! Her youngest is in the same grad with Antonia so he just walks to our house. The big kids get home later but she has to leave to meet Nick and get his paper route done. She is working on an album for her neice's wedding (it is really coming along & pretty) gift. I decided that I wanted to stamp a bunch of bella images and get them colored in so that I could make birthday cards to have in storage instead of waiting until the last minute! I will maybe take pictures of all the images I colored. We have such fun together! We are planning on getting the families together on Saturday which always excites the kids!

Friday was spent straightening the house! Ugh! Plus hanging out online of course! Later on we went to my inlaws for a visit! I had a dicussion with my oldest ones principal which was needed! I don't like things they are doing at school when it comes to the students! I won't start explaining because it is lengthly and I will go to bed ticked. I am curious to see some information come home regarding the school situation.

It is now 1:43 a.m. and I need to get to bed! Thanks for visiting me---and please come again. I hope that next time I will have some cards for you to see. I am also hoping to have some challanges for my visitors! I hope that when I do you will give them a try!

Did not do much to day

I was not very constructive today! I had plans of getting some cards made but didn't. I did get some changes done on my blog though. I have added many of the girls from CX so that you can find them easily. I added a stamp & scrap link. Most of these right now are card related but I will get scrap ones soon. I still have my favorite places to visit!

I also got done the winners & donors of Friday's cyber crop and the winner of the Fink challenge! There were a lot of assume challenges! I did not win any challenges but I did win an hourly rak coming from CX DT member Cari! Her blog is also listed in mine! Check it out! We keep the challenges & hourly drawing random so that everyone has a chance to win! I felt this way, especially with the challenges it gives everyone a chance no matter what their skill level. You should think about stopping by and visiting us some time!

My head is killing me, my nose is plugged and feels like it wants to leave my face! I can't blame it cuz I have seen my face! The Weather Channel said it was going to storm today at around midnight which they finally got right! I should put that in my palm so that I can say they knew what they were talking about one day! We got a dozy of a storm! There was a crack of thunder that scared the, well I won't say it, but it was loud! The little dog came running out as if it scared the pee out of her---she did go out to pee! The rain poured, the wind blew, the lights flickered, the thunder rolled and I ran for the flashlight!!!! I am afraid of storms but hold it together around the girls, I am so good! LOL It just happens that they were asleep (slept right through it) which is good because I was nervous and hugging the flashlight! I do have to say that I was scared but did not sacrifice my online time!!!!! I sat here and typed to keep me pre occupied--LOL. What is even better yet it is Taylor's laptop that I am using so I was able to sit in my favorite chair! It is my understanding that we have storms coming the next few days! UGH! It blows too because James is out of town the next 3 days so I have to be way to brave! Bummer!

Well this won't actually be for Tuesday since it is after 12 so if you see another post on the same day it is not because I am crazy, well, maybe it is!
Hugs! Come back soon!!!!!

As I told you all in my previous post, the CX cyber crop was on Friday. I am lucky to have wonderful ladies that volunteer by hosting challenges or donating raks for all of us to enjoy! I am also blessed because they are all receptive to my girls trying too! Each cc, I hope that I will get time to myself! It never quite works out that way. One reason is because they are tired after all day school and don't feel like going anywhere. Two is that I always open my big mouth and ask them if they are doing the cc too! Normally Antonia is not interested but this time she wanted to do stuff. I was very impressed because Antonia (with big sis' help) was able to take a 12x12 layout sketch and make it 8x8 for a calendar page! It sure is easy to tell which ones I did versus them since mine stinks!!!! Taylor has so much creativity and ideas it just amazes me. I think someday we will be seeing her name in the magazines!!!! I might just one day submit one of her projects for her at this age!
The gettin wet page (mine), October calendar(Antonia) & Halloween (Taylor) are all from the 12x12 sketch that was provided. We were allowed to change it as needed. I am the type of scrapper to put as many pictures as I can on my page! Chicago (mine) & Frosty were for a challenge where you had to use a line from a song on your page somewhere. If you did a song the hostess never heard of you get an extra chances to win a prize. I found the perfect song by researching the internet. The song is by Linda Ronstadt called In my reply. The line is that he left his home in back in Ohio, bound for Chicago's town. I just changed it to we and our. I was not even gonna attempted this challenge and glad I did! Of course Taylor's song is easy--Frosty the Snowman! Another challenge was a card one using Gamasol or baby oil to color in your stamped image! I really enjoyed this challenge as well but it will take time getting use to. The baby oil was hard to do and blend than what I thought. I used a bella stamp which I so love! Bubblebella seemed so perfect because I could do the tub and bubbles with blending. I am not overly happy with the darkness of the bubbles and the way the bella's hand looks blue too but I am sure with a little practice and less blue by her arm it will come out how I like it! This card took a while because it just seemed like it was missing something so I added the relax, bliss and flowers with button. I hosted a challenge as well which was a card challenge using ribbon, 1 button (or more), stamps & a die cutter like the Cricut etc. I had several ladies attempted my challenge! Yea! I might give this one a try as well!
I have to share something funny with all you that happened while James and Antonia were at the flea market. She made some money with some of her items so they walked around while Grandma and Grandpa maned the tables. She came across some people that were selling beagle puppies. She was so excited that she asked how much they were. The man said they were 150. She got a big smile and told her dad she would take 2! Puzzled he just stood there and she said I will be right back with my five dollars! LOL James said no, they are one hundred and fifty dollars. I told James I am surprised she did not say she would take 3 since it would leave her 50 cents left for gumballs! What a character!

Sorry that I have been boring!

I have been wanting to sit down and update this! I had this bright idea that I wanted to add my photo to my blog!!! What a mistake that was! I drove myself crazy for many nights working on it and reading directions! I have a short fuse which caused me to get ticked then go to bed!!!!! So this went on for many many days as you can tell from my last post! Ugh! 2 nights ago I thought I finally have it!!!!!!!!!! I was so proud of myself because it said it excepted my picture. Strutting like a rooster & doing the happy dance at 1:00 in the morning, thinking I finally did it. Next I hit view blog, still so proud, to find out that it didn't work!!!! I took it well, NOT, cussed and went to bed! As you can tell I still don't know how to do my picture! I am officially the only person who is blog challenged!!!! It is a small group, actually only me, at the weekly meeting.

I have not done much scrapping or card making since the ones you see posted. I am hoping to get a lot done tonight at the Creative Xpress Cyber Crop. The link explains what we are doing. I set these up over a year ago! We all get together, once a month, from various states to scrap and chat together! It is a lot of fun! We do a lot of chatting---less scrapping---but we do have all weekend to work and the deadline to post your project for a small prize is the following Monday! We also have hourly prizes for the chat room too! I usually post them on Monday but those of you that know me know I make excuses! So it might be longer before I get around to posting! My bad!

Taylor and I are stag this weekend! Tonight James and Antonia are home but Saturday they are gone. They are spending the night at my in laws house. Saturday, they are helping at mom's garage sale then the next day they are all going to get up at the crack of dawn to do the flea market! James and Antonia have a spot and so do his parents! I am hoping that things sell well for them. Tonight Taylor and I will do the challenges at CX then make tomorrow a scrapping day for us! No interruptions unless we want them! It will be fun to have just the two of us weekend! The only things I don't like about Taylor scrapping and card making is she is better than me! The little brat has such an eye! I think my eyes are always blurred! LOL I will have to post some of her work soon!

Well, that is it for now! I will hopefully have some scrappy stuff posted this weekend for you to look at! Thanks for visiting me! Love ya all!

Made cards the last few days!!!!!

My friend Chris came over to scrap on Thursday. She worked on a wedding album for her neice and I decided to make cards for various people for fun. I made the dog cards for a friend at CX and for my Aunt (who I hope does not read this!). I just thought the dogs were to fun and both people are animal lovers! It was fun because I am not an animal lover, BWAAHHHAHHHHAAH. Yeah, right 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 MIA hamster, all of which I am allergic to plus all the others things we have had!!!! Basically, this is a stamp set I have had and wanted to use for quite some time! While she was visiting we talked about her having to make a wedding card. I offered to make one but that is as far as it got.
I decided later while still wanting to card make that I would put together a card kit that she could assemble later. I cut the paper, stamped the glasses, colored them in, diamond glazed the glasses, cut the ribbon, got the buckle and then decided she would not know how to put it together so I did it! Opps! I just could not resist! After spending all day together we ended up getting together that night because I had the car and wanted to get a way! Just felt like one of those evenings! The girls and I went over and stayed to late! At least the next day was Friday and all of us were having a good time.
Before we left for Chris' I got my first job making a card! Taylor's friend Elizabeth needed a card for her a birthday her brother was going to and ask me to make it! She offered to pay me for it but I was just thrilled to be asked. I made the frog card that is posted. It was a challange because it was for a boy and I am not a good boy card maker. It came out okay and she liked it so that is all that counts. She asked if I could make other cards for her when she needs them! It will be fun! I just thought it was sweet of her to ask.
Saturday was spent cleaning up the house and then the scrap room! I decided to start a project with paper--reorganzing! What the heck was I thinking! By the time I got done, I hated paper and my darn back hurt!! Of course this got the ball rolling to do other stuff--more organizing! I was so tired of my scrap room. Now that is something I thought I would never say!!!!!!
Sunday (today) was spent with Taylor and I trying to change my header in this blog! We laughed and got confused but I think we figured it out. We also watched the race. I was very bummed as my driver was 5th in points but after engine problems is now 12th! Thank goodness there is 9 more races to go in the chase! The rest of my day has been on here updating with interruptions! I also added some of my favorite blogs and hopefully will be adding some more soon! So check them out and let the girls now I sent you! There are a few card sites list too! You can tell them I sent them but not sure they would care!!!!! LOL

I finally got around to using some of my new bella stamps! I could not believe I would buy them without having an idea of how I was going to use them! Doh! I then had to post how do you use yours? After getting some great answers I decided that I would use double sided sticky tape for now! I let my new stamps intimidate me like most of the stamps I have! People come up with such wonderful ideas and I come up with poop! I know that most people don't like what they do & I am NO different! I see flaws in this card like my horrible watercoloring in the jeans!!!!!! I just wish that I could come up with great ideas like so many others do! This design is adapted from one I saw in a mag! I added the scallop edge and rhinestone brads! Oh man, I think the one I adapted was also a bella stamp! I have to say that I do like the card and hopefully my friend will too!
My in-laws stopped by tonight to visit. They took us out for ice cream at Baskin Robbins. After standing in line like forever, we finally started getting the ice cream. We stand at the register for the girl to total everything up and it comes to 18.45! I am thinking it is a good thing James did not get anything or this would have been over $20! I could not believe it!!!! I told James we could have gone to a fast food place and got food for the same cost as ice cream!!! I was just in total shock!!!! Antonia's Oreo shake was $4.99! I think for this kind of money each item should have had gold sprinkles on it! Who in the world came up with these prices???? Now, I know why we don't go there much! Well almost never! Now I know why the lady in the commercials eats all the peas so that they can get ice cream at BR...it is because it is the last meal her family will be able to afford after she pays for the ice cream!
Today brings fun! I unfortunately have to get up early!!!!!! Like by 9:30 a.m.! Who in the world would be up at the awful hour????? I know , I know, normal people! The only bright side is that I will be scrapping with my friend Chris! Yea!!!! We might also take the kids after dinner to the park or maybe Friday after school! They have been best friends for years and miss our once a week get togethers with them like during the summer! I am sure hoping we can get some camping done this fall! We had a blast when we went! The best part is when going to bed we were making furious noises to scare Taylor and Nick! I did the meanest, badest, frog and cow! It sure scared the kids!!!!! Yeah right! LOL
Toodles for now! Check back soon! You hear?

A little catching up to do!

I can't believe I have not been able to get here until today! Actually I can, cuz we have been busy! Thursday, I had my girlfriend's boys over so that her and her hubby could go out to dinner for their anniversary. It is nice to have them over because all the kids have been buds for years now! The only problem was the big kids bothering the little kids while they were playing animals! Such problems! LOL Friday-We went to pick up James' car after they made repairs to it! From there James and Antonia went to the park to fish and climb & Taylor and I came home later watching Wild Hogs. Saturday was spent over my in laws & me watching the NASCAR race! My driver/car came in 9th and will be in the chase for the cup! He is 5th in points and I am so excited! I hope he can win the cup again! I still miss my favorite driver, Rusty Wallace, who retired a couple years back. I stayed with the Miller Lite car and root for Kurt Busch. Sunday, we got to spend a day at Swings and Things for FREE! We drove go karts, played putt putt, played in the batting cages and had a wonderful lunch (courtesy of my sister in law). We had a great time and I will post some pictures of our day. Monday was spent cleaning house, making dinner, going to the 4th grade open house and to Walmart to get fabric for Taylor to make lounge pants in Home ec or whatever they call it!

Speaking of the open house--I could not believe that they said the reason the kids are doing a different math is because after 7 years of study we all grew up doing it wrong! Now, what is wrong with that picture???? Well, I will tell you what I think! Remember we are all entitled to our own opinions and this is mine. I have sat with both my girls helping them with math. I will admit that I was not very good at it but still I can help with the division and stuff like that or so I thought! We did long division the same way for many generations and now I am told at open house not to teach it like we were taught! I thought that is ridiculous we have to teach them different it just does not make sense. We are to teach them the facts like normal but to do long division totally strange. I can't see how a child is suppose to figure out how many times a small number goes into a large number!!!!! For example (the best I could come up with) 4 goes into 430 instead of going into the 4 into 4. Hopefully you get what I mean! It is just so much easier the old way. The teacher said that we were all taught to do it by rules and that those rules don't apply and were to confusing so that was the reason for the change. I just don't seem to agree with this whole concept. Heck we have teens and young adults that can't count money! If you go to the store and they put the wrong thing in the register they have no idea what to give you back!!! Okay, I agree that they might just panic but it seems to happen all the time! Things are just changing to make things to easy! Okay, my complaining is over!

Thanks for stopping and hopefully I will come up with something more exciting! I am hoping to get some cards done so that I can post them! We shall see!

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses

I was sitting here on Monday with peace and quiet and did I do anything with it? Heck no! James and Antonia plus the dogs were out hiking, Taylor went to her friend Jack's for a cookout leaving the house to me and the cats! Yipee I thought, I will get so much done today. I had such big plans and dreams! Some of the things I wanted to do was to make cards for some blog sites, an anniversary, birthday and miss you. First, I wanted to stop by my favorite site, Creative Xpress to see what was up there. Not much was going on but I just kept sitting there is hopes someone would make a new post soon. After waiting for a while, checking the galleries and once again the new posts, I realized that I was making excuses to not get anything done! Then of course I had to decided to make a post regarding it. I just can't understand why I just sit around instead of using my time wisely. Heck I had even cleaned the house so that I would not feel guilty. But here I sat in the chair just like I am doing now!!!!! I have had all morning/afternoon cuz kids are at school and hubby is working and I have not moved from the computer! Well actually I did move I put corn dogs in the toaster oven! I have to eat, you know! But you know I am still sitting here making excuses, excuses, excuses. The worst part is that Antonia will be home soon and we will have to do homework. I have to just face reality--I AM NOT GOING TO GET ANYTHING DONE! Darn excuses!!!!!! I know exactly what is going to happen, I will get motivated about 15 mins before bed! LOL

I guess if I do get anything done, I will update this post!

Card for sketch it

This is a card I made today while my family was out. I made this for the sketch it blog challange.

Whew--busy busy!

I finally have a chance to post! It sure was a busy weekend. Saturday we were supposed to go on a picnic but it that did not happen. James dad and James had to go to his brothers house to help out with the hot water tank. So James told his parents it would be fine to have the stuff at their house instead of dragging everything to the park. That was okay by me since I could just hang out instead. Antonia went with her dad and grandparent in hopes of seeing her cousins. Taylor of course did the usual play on the computer and talk on her cell phone. James' brother Eric and I went to the Parmatown mall because he needed to get something for a wedding reception later that evening. Mom got everything ready to cook and got the charcoal ready for her beef sticks! Yum! While we were out Eric and I picked James up a birthday cake. Of course 40 candles would be way to hot for the smoke detectors that we used only 20! We all just hung out and chatted then headed on home.

Sunday we went to my parents house for a cookout. We had the typical hamburgers and hot dogs! While everything was cooking we played a little baseball. I even took a try! I was not sure how the wrist would hold up but it did okay! It hurt a bit especially when I hit the ball. It has been a long time since I have picked up a bat but I at least hit some!!! James helped my dad do his gutters and move some furniture since they are working on their house. I don't think my dad should have been doing any of this but he did what he could. Mom and I just chatted. It was nice. We headed home and now I am sitting her updating my blog! Boy I tell you this sure is a boring read! Sorry!

Taylor made some cards this weekend. One was for my great aunt and the other was for her dad's birthday. I will be posting them and a few pictures from our weekend events!

Well thanks for reading and hopefully the coming days will be more exciting for you all!
