Hope it was a good Christmas and Happy New Year

Hey-

It is Sunday so I thought while I was sitting at the in-laws I would update my blog. Sorry no crafty things to show you because I forgot to get a picture of the gift card holders I made for Jack, Peter and Hallie for their I tunes cards! He is going to give it to me to take a photo of!

I am hoping that you all had a great Christmas! We sure did! It never really did feel like Christmas though for some reason. My parents think for them it is because they don't have a house still! But we did the best we could at the apartment. We had to bring some dishes and things plus the girls had to eat at the living room table but all in all it went well. We always bring the gifts from my parents house to open at our house. They decided that 16 years ago so they could get out on Christmas day. So you load up the cars after cleaning and doing dishes then head to our house for gift opening!

I wanted to share a picture of the tree with the presents.

We were fortunate enough since we needed a new television very badly! My parents always come over for Christmas eve and when they came in they brought us a 37 inch flat screen tv!!!!! I was so thrilled! Our old tv just sucked. Of course we all did not get as much presents as usual but we did still get spoiled by them. I want to share my jackpot of card making stuff!! Finally after all these years people started listening and buying me what I real want!!!! So I was blessed with:

Taylor wanted to buy me the Glue Glider Pro tape gun so I got that from her. She loves to watch Gina K and saw her use it. She also likes to make cards so James bought the 4 tape runners so she did not use my good ones! LOL She actually helped me make the gc holders! She is very talented when it comes to make cards and has fantastic ideas! Of course I also got some clothes, slippers, Get Smart and Guitar Hero 5 plus other things! We all made out like bandits! There was also a great support for Nintendo this year as the girls got many games, Jack did and my mom did too! LOL

The Character Cafe Friday

This is another week that we were to go out in blog land and find challenges! Of course we used our image from The Character Cafe store! I used Stewie Snowman from our October release for this weeks challenge. As I told you all before, we were given a chance to win a prize for doing the most challenges with our images! Well I am no where close to winning because trying to do a card for to many challenges hurts my little brain! It just throws me for a loop! But I am happy to say that I was able to do 5 challenges with this card!

I have to say that I really like this card! Very unusual for me too! I have really felt lately that my coloring has sucked! Afraid my current DT's will kick me off for coloring like a first grader! I just feel something is missing!

All were either Christmas or winter except for Pile it on which was chipboard and that is my snowflake. I followed the sketch at Spoon full of sugar exactly as it was! I like to do sketches as they are basically to show people you don't have to change them if you don't want to!

I will probably not be posting a lot next week! Basically because it is the holidays but Monday is Antonia's 12th birthday!!!! When did I get old enough to have a 12 year old???? Funny but it was hard for me to have Jack turn 15 and he is not even mine! But after him dating Taylor 2 years and one month, it sure feels like he is mine! Love that kid to death! He is a great boy and they are so cute together! Who would have known when they started dating in 7th (liked each other since 5th) they would still be together in 9th! They are always here under close supervision! Jack and Antonia recently made a gingerbread house together. He treats her so well! Anyway then you have Christmas and New Years plus my father in laws birthday New Years Eve! It is a shame because I try not to rip Antonia off for her birthday but with Christmas a few days away you almost have no choice. My fil gets ripped off too but he says it is okay because he does not want to celebrate b-days anymore! Wants it to be just another day!

My late post for Tellen's Place & Super late AiFactory

Hey all-

Sorry my friends for being late! I have been so busy with chorus concerts for both girls and Taylor still has one tomorrow! I was out all day shopping for Christmas plus Antonia's birthday on Monday! Busy, busy is not how I like to be! I am a home body and being gone so much annoys me!

Anyway, I think all my shopping is done! Thank goodness! I think little things might be all there is to get but James can do that when he is shopping for me! He has not even started but at the same time he is still out of town.

Okay to my cards which is why you came! Most of you come because you have to since we are DT members together but that is okay. I am sorry I guess it was just one of those days. Okay now really to the card!

This week's challenge was to use a black base! That was gonna be a tough one for me or so I thought. I actually realized that black was easier to work with than I thought plus it is not just for sympathy cards! I enjoyed this challenge and sure you will too! Okay well I have been so busy that I did my AiFactory late again! At least it is done! We were challenged to use the Boo boo doctor's clip art! You can find it here! I would like to thanks those that have picked me to join their DT's because it is has been so fun and definitely challenging! Thank you for that! Okay now to the card!

Feature Friday for The Character Cafe (a day early) & S2G tryout

This week we are free to roam blog land for our challenges! I decided to hit some of my favorite places! We are having a DT contest for a chance to win a prize and all you have to do is enter the most challenges! So off I went to find my places.


This week I chose to use the image Angelica from the Character Cafe Store. She was so fun to work with! This card will work for: Stamp Something, Stamptacular Sunday, Pile it on, Bizzy Becs, Simon Says and the S2G DT call! Wow, that is a lot of places for me! I don't usually do that! LOL I get to confused!

I colored my image with Prismacolor Pencils blending with Gamsol. Of course you all knew that already!! This is a sketch for S2G challenges DT call! This is for the Jan 2010 call. I decided to give it a go!!

I am gonna be brief this week in blabbing! LOL Remember to participate this week for the chance in the drawing for the Character Cafe grand prize draw! I mean who would not want a chance to win a Copic Airbrush System!

Oh yeah, I forget to tell you all that on Black Friday I went to the Flower Factory store just to look around. Well they were having a drawing for a free Wii system and guess what????? I WON IT!!! I was fortunate enough that I had one but they gave me the receipt and I was able to get the cash!!! I decided I have always wanted Band Hero (the whole system w/drums) so I bought that instead!! We are all having a blast with it! I was so excited!!!!!

Well have a fantastic weekend and yes I am early with my post! But I wanted to get in on the challenges for a chance to win!

My first DT card for Tellen's Place & Late post for AiFactory

Hope everything is going well for everyone! Finally feeling a little better! Yippee!

I recently was thrilled with the news that I had made the DT for Tellen's Place!!!! They have such cute images and are different from the others you see out there! Check out the link. You also get freebies at the blog sometimes! This will give you a chance to use them. Remember you don't have to use the images to participate!!! You can use whatever you have! So no excuses to try the challenge!

Tanisha came up with this week's challenge of paper piecing. I decided to use this image (I don't know the name, sorry) for the piecing:

I made this card for Antonia since her birthday is on the 21st! This is a perfect image for a 12 yr old. I colored her with my Prismacolor Pencils and blended with Gamsol. The bottom of the skirt is the part that is paper pieced.

Next week is another cool challenge at Tellen's because I get a preview of what is coming up, I will tell you it starts with a B! Hum, could it be a color or button? I wonder!

I had problems getting Ning working on Monday then has so much going on that I was not able to get to my AiFactory challenge until today! We were to use one of the tags for our challenge. Now you can do them anyway you want so that would include even coloring them in a photoshop program. Check out the tags here!

Challenge Masters Rockin blog hop!

Hey there all-

Boy have I been busy! I had a blog hop for The Character Cafe so please make sure you are all checking there out!!!! The girls that are co owners are just wonderful and work so hard on their new images!

The design team at Ch{all}enge Masters (most of us) decided to do Our first ever Christmas blog hop! We were to give you a holiday project so I went with what I do for teacher gifts! I buy hot chocolate packets (flavored) and make a holder for them! I will show you the holder now! You should have started at Challenge Masters main blog and come to me from Janet!


This is such an easy holder to make! I will give you instructions.

1. Take a piece of cardstock and cut it to 11 x 7 1/2
2. Score at 1 inch and 6 inches
3. Fold the 1 inch in (you will adhere front to this section)
4. Fold the back side in to lay on top of inch strip (this side you will decorate)
5. Take any stamp you want to do background. I used a snowflake stamp. Use pigment ink so you can emboss images.
6. Emboss
7. Make a box of solid color 3 1/8 inches x 3 1/4
8. Make image box of 3 x3 and stamp image of your choice and whatever medium you would like. Color
9. Adhere image to solid color then adhere to front of embossed side.
10. Make a tag of some sort. I used the circle one as shown.
11. Put holder together with pop dots (I found work best) and punch a hole (through both sides) which will be used to tie ribbon.

12. Put ribbon through hole (this will hold hot chocolate packets) lower packets making sure to hold both strings and tie in a bow. You now have your teacher gift!!!!! I usually just put the name a giver on the back or you could decorate the back to like I did my first year but now I am lazy and don't! LOL


We were told to tell you a Christmas story that is special to us. I think that would be when I got my Kitchen aid mixer. I know it sounds like a spoiled brat but I wanted one for a few years. Each year I waited knowing that it was kind of expensive for my parents but I had hopes! Well we finished our presents and I said to myself that maybe next year Santa will bring it! My mom tells my dad to go to the car she forgot something and in it came! I finally got my Kitchen Aid Mixer!!!! I have to say I cried! My poor mom got up at 3:30 to get to Kohl's for the Black Friday special! I was so happy and thankful!!!!!
