Sketch 31 & Wedding Card

Hey there all-

I am going to start off with a question for you computer guru's! I switched to this 3 column blog as you all know but it is to messy. I look at your 3 columns and they are neat plus tidy. I know this is the case like in yours Maggi! How do you do it? I even preview mine but it still will look totally different when it posts. An example is line spacing, it looks great then on the blog is spaced different! That drives me nuts! The secretary in me wants it neat but I have not been one since my girls were born so I have no idea how all this new stuff works! Heck when I started I was mad I had to learn a new program which was Word Perfect! Did I ever just date myself there! Can you help little ole me? PLEASE!!!!!!

Okay now to this weeks sketch by our very own Dawn at Inspirational card sketches. I loved this sketched! It would be perfect with almost any kind of stamp or occasion! So enough said on that, let me show you it now:

Supplies:

Paper:
DCWV Glitter Stack, ? & SU
Ink:
Whispers & SU
Markers:

Sugar loaf
Stamps:
Scrappy Cat ($1.50 ones)
Ribbon:
Offray
Stickers:
Tim Coffey (spider has googly eyes)

I decided that this would be a great sketch for a Halloween card so it was just a matter of picking stamps! I had just bought theses stamps but could not remember if it was for me or a rak! LOL So I decided to use them for me! I have to say that the pumpkin stamp was hard to use!!! I don't know if it is because it is clear but the ink did not stick well! So when I stamped it on the paper, it so needed help! I decided to make my own vertical lines on the pumpkin face since it was smooth to bring it out some. It still was bland so I colored in the stem with two green colors for some oomph! I then colored an outline around it with orange and yellow in the face! This really helped it out too! The next block was a spider web so no problems stamping that! I was gonna use the spider stamp that came with it but used the cute little 3D stickers you see! I was gonna make the spider dangle from the web but changed my mind. I think because I was lazy! The second picture shows the close up to see the stickers but also that I needed to help the Happy Halloween so I used my glitter pen on it. It is not very clear but at least you can kinda tell versus the first pic! The final thing was to to the ribbon plus I added some little embellies! The bottom candy corn are separate but I put the like that! I am so cleaver! LMAO Yeah right!

Next card I will show you is the Wedding card for my dh's co-worker. He kinda told me at the last minute so had to brain storm and this is what I came up with:
Supplies:
Paper:
Stampin Up!
Stamps:
SU & Hampton Art
Ink:
Memento Tuxedo Black & Pretty Color
Embossing:
Cuttlebug Folder & Ranger
Punch:
Fiskars Fleur de lis
Ribbon:
Joann's
Of course he did not know colors so we winged it! He chose red and black so I went to work with that! I am not sure what I think of it as I am a sketch user usually but I did this one out of my little brain!
Well I will quit babbling but wanted to say that this week was the start of school for us! I can't believe that I have a High school er & Middle school er! Does time ever fly or what! Hugs to you all! I would appreciate the help with this blog layout thing! Don't forget check us out at ICS for this weeks great sketch and your chance to win a prize with us for trying!

Sketch 30 & stuff

This week we had a terrific sketch from a DT member, Olena! We also had 2 digi stamps to work with from our sponsor, Paper Popsicles! I actually chose to use the Elizabeth rainy day one. Thought this stamp would be something that would make me think more out of the box plus on what to do with the rain idea. So let me show you the sketch!

Supplies:

Digi Stamp:
Paper Popsicles

Paper: Prima Designer Cardstock, DCWV & SU!

Ink: Mementos

Embellies: Jolee's & ?

Ribbon: It is a shoelace!

Square Punch: Creative Memories

Colored with Prismacolor & blended with Gamsol

Like I said earlier, our sponsor this week is:

You could win the 2 stamps that my wonderful DT friends used this week by just doing the sketch and using Mr. Linky to show us your card! Please join us this week! You can see both stamps at Inspirational Card Sketches! Good luck!!!!

Things are moving at my parents "hole" (that is what I call the house since it burnt down)! The have started the foundation and yesterday filled in the old garage since the house will be on level ground now instead of a slopped down driveway. So at least something is coming out of all this!! Everything will be state of the art and brand new but some how it is still gonna be different. My mom says it will not be home anymore. I think she feels like she can never have that back but I am hoping that the new house will feel like home for her the longer she lives there. Funny how life can change in the blink of an eye. I keep trying to tell myself that there is a reason God had for this so I just need to hold out and I will see it. I always hear that building a house is a nightmare so I am hoping it will go smoothly for them because they need it to!

Well thanks for stopping by to visit with me! I love all your comments. I am hoping to be better at looking at your blogs very soon. School starts next week so I will have more time to do things than I did before! Hugs to all! I also want to encourage you to stop by ICS! We were thrilled to have 50+ people give it a go last week! Come on by!

Sketch 29

Hey there all-

This past weekend we went on a trip to Pittsburgh, PA to the zoo & outlets. We have been to the zoo there before and it is outstanding! It is one of the best we have been to! I am gonna share some pictures with you, if you don't mind! It just has the best layout with such a natural setting. The first picture is of the tigers playing with a giant ice cube! The next is of Taylor & Jack in the garden arbor. I can't belief they will be dating 2 years in November! They are going to be freshman this year! Time sure flies!

Anyway, to this weeks sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches, which was designed by one of our talented DT members, Tricia! This sketch really confused me! I spent so much time looking at it, changing it, redesigning my card that I finally thought well this is what I have so it will have to be it! I still don't know if I can say this is a decent card by me! I am not the greatest card maker but I usually like part of it but this card just is there for me.

Well anywho, the sketch and card!

Supplies:

Paper:
American Crafts (celebration), Karen Foster Recycled & SU

Stamp:
Penny Black

Ink:
Memento Tuxedo black & Whispers

Lace:
Garage Sale!

Flowers:
Prima

I used pop dots to put the hedgehog as the center of attention. Of course this is colored with my prismacolor and blended with Gamsol. I still have not tried my Copics! Eek! The rest of the card was done with regular adhesive including the ribbon. I added the flowers in the corners for added appeal. I always ask Taylor what she thinks and she suggested it needed something extra! I wish I could convince her to keep her blog up and show her work because it is awesome!!!!!

Well it was a busy weekend & week so far! I am hoping it slows down very soon!!!! I am thinking of starting my own ning group & blog group. I am not sure what I am going to do but I miss having a spot for everyone to hang out at! I enjoyed that with Creative Xpress & NBKS but both are gone now! Would you be interested in being there with me? Let me know what you think! It will be a fun place for everyone to gather! I promise that!

Sketch 28

Again there is a great sketch by Dawn! This week she asked us to do Christmas cards! Well now I have one done! I will wait until 2 weeks before Christmas to do the rest! LMAO We also have a great sponsor this week too!

Anyway, here is the sketch:

Supplies:

Paper: SU & DCWV

Ribbon:

Great Value

Brads: Joann's

Pom poms: No clue

Stamps: Archiver's Exclusive

Embellies: Walmart

Liquid Applique

Pop Dots: Zots

I changed the sketch a little but cutting out my gingerbread boys! My green layer I used pop dots to lift it. My gb boys are also on pop dots and for added oomph they have liquid applique to make it look like frosting. I cheated this week since I just stamped the gbb on brown paper instead of coloring them. I hope you all still like it! I just love the little tree cookie cutter!

We had a great time at Put in bay! The weather was wonderful and there was not a lot of people. We went during the week so the partiers were still at work! It is a big area for campers, boaters and drinkers. Unfortunately Antonia met with a really mean lady on the ferry that I had to kinda of tell off! She was a real bitch. So poor girl was all upset over it. Finally after she forgets about it, we go to the game place that we were at last year to do our go kart race and they changed the height requirement so she was not allowed to drive! That really bummed her out! Poor girl! LOL

I hope you all can join us for the weeks challenge! If you could please spread the word that we are around! We want to grow our numbers! Thanks for looking at my blog! It is always a pleasure having visitors!
