Happileigh Scrappin Blog Hop

Happy New Year everyone! I hope it was a safe one for you all. On New Year’s Eve, we went to my inlaws for my father in laws birthday. Usually we stay the night but this year we came home. James made his nacho dip and we played Pictionary using the Udraw (Wii gizmo that’s new) until it was time for the countdown. We watched that then Jack (Taylor’s bf of 3 years) and Antonia blew off some fireworks then we took Jack home. New Year’s day was dinner at my parents. Every year is the same meal! Pork, sauerkraut, Kilebasa and what ever else. The good luck stuff supposedly but not sure it works! The best part was this was my parents first new year in the new house since the old one burnt down! It was also the first Christmas. For those who do not know my parents house burnt down on Mother’s Day 2009 and the new house was finished February 2010.

This is the first blog hop for Happileigh! Leigh just started her own challenges and store! Her designs are so cute, hand drawn (not clip art) and fun to use! I would love for you all to check her challenges! I am getting to work with some old friends as well as getting to make new ones! You should be arriving from Leigh (store owner)! She loves to color her cards digitally! I am to computer illiterate to do that! LOL You can also visit her group at CDAC

Here is my card:

blog hop image2

I used unknown paper (cover gone), ribbon from a Christmas present (I cheated, LOL) and Pearls. I made the layout design on my own. That is unusual for me! Winking smile I decided no sentiment for this one because I could use it for a thank you, birthday, hi or whatever I want. Maybe it would be “I heard it through the grapevine…it is your birthday”! Hee hee

You should now be hopping on to the beautiful works of Audrey! I am sure that you have seen stunning projects so you will want to finish the hop! Just incase you stopped by to me but need the start here is the list:

Using a ribbon from a gift is not cheating! It's called reduce, reuse and recycle and I do it all the time! I love this mouse image!

I agree with Oma, reducing carbon footprint and free crafty stash is always a good thing :) You are merely opening up your mind to new possibilities. I must admit when I open a card or a present I am always looking at the wrapping etc to see if I can re-use something in my crafting.

Your card is lovely, love a teamie who isn't afraid of patterned paper the same as me :)

Love Mandy xxx

P.S. Hope the first New Year celebrations for your Mum & Dad herald a better year for them. Must be awful to have your house destroyed in such a way.

Fink...I love your card! Way too cute...and you colored it wonderfully. And who would have known that you "recycled" the ribbon if you wouldn't have told us lol. The colors are just perfect for this cute little image. Thanks so much for sharing and congratulations on making the DT!
